The ICARUS Climate Research Centre at Maynooth University is seeking a post-doctoral researcher to join an international research project focused on ‘Justice First: Community-Embedded Energy Transition Planning for Climate Resilience’. The researcher will become a member of ICARUS’ Climate Justice Research team which is led by Professor Jennie Stephens – and the researcher will play a central role in managing and facilitating the comparative analysis component of the Justice First project which involves six case studies in diverse communities in different parts of the world. The role requires knowledge of epistemic justice and openness to integrating indigenous knowledge and community-based knowledge. The successful candidate will have a PhD in an area related to political economy, climate justice, energy democracy, social justice, transformative change, and community-based research. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, including facilitation experience and an established publication record.
Post-Doctoral Researcher (2024) Salary Scale: €44,347 (1 point - with increment)
Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.
