Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Shipping Law and Maritime Resolution in the Faculty of Law (Ref.: 530220), to commence on July 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract. Suitably qualified applicants may be considered for direct tenure.

The Faculty of Law, the longest-established law school in Hong Kong, plays a leading role in legal education in Hong Kong and Asia through its various undergraduate, research, postgraduate, and taught postgraduate programmes covering a wide range of legal subject areas. It is the largest and oldest legal research and law teaching institution in Hong Kong, currently consisting of over 80 full-time faculty members drawn from more than 17 jurisdictions worldwide. 

Applicants should normally have a first degree in Law (e.g., LLB, BA(Jurisprudence) and JD) and an additional postgraduate degree in Law (e.g., LLM, PhD, D Phil and SJD).

The appointee will be expected to make a significant contribution to the Faculty’s research profile by producing high-quality research and actively participating in research communities. He/she will also be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of teaching in the Faculty’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
