The Department of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy at Royal Holloway seeks to appoint a Lecturer in Philosophy. The successful applicant would be expected to start in January 2025.

About the Department. The Department of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences. The Department of Politics, International Relations, and Philosophy is a research-intensive unit. The Department provides a full range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes to a diverse student body. We carry out research across different sub-disciplines, including but not limited to the Centre for Continental Philosophy, the Centre for the Study and Application of Stoicism, and the (college-wide) Gender Institute.

About the role. This post is in part cover for an existing member of staff. The successful candidate will deliver convene and deliver modules in the Philosophy curriculum. In particular, we are looking for someone to convene and teach on the Department of Politics, International Relations, and Philosophy’s undergraduate Philosophy of Psychiatry, Philosophy of Medicine, and other generalist modules.

This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
