The role
The Visa & Immigration Student Advice Service (VISAS Team) are looking to recruit a Student Visa and Immigration Advisor to join the team.
The Visa and Immigration Student Advice Service provides visa advice on matters regarding UK Student visas to applicants and students; and activities related to sponsor compliance and CAS issuance.
As a Student Visa and Immigration Advisor, you will provide immigration advice and guidance on Student visas through Live Chat, individual appointments, and email queries. Additionally, the role involves implementing polices and processes related to the University’s duties as a Student sponsor including Right to Study checks, engagement monitoring, and reporting to the Home Office.
The post holder will be involved in planning, delivery and review of VISAS Team events and activities including Right to Study checks and Visa Extension workshops. The post holder will also participate in the planning and development of the service.
About you
The successful candidate will be a highly organised team player with a good knowledge of the Higher Education sector and up to date knowledge of issues impacting international students within Higher Education. Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively to students, staff and other stakeholders is essential.
After a period of training, this role can be hybrid with a minimum expectation of three days in the office. Between August to October, the team work on campus five days a week to deliver events and activities related to registration and Right to Study checks.
The successful candidate will need to be cleared by the Home Office to handle Biometric Residence Permits (BRP) so will need to be a UK national, have ILR or have EU Pre-settled/Settled status.
