Do you enjoy working with young people, are you curious, and do you want to pass on your knowledge? As a Senior Lecturer, you play a crucial role in educating students. In addition to providing a solid academic education, we also place a special emphasis on the personal development of students. We support students in developing curiosity and critical thinking, thereby creating a solid foundation for the professional challenges of the next generation.
We look for a Senior Lecturer for the interdisciplinary Master programme "Gender Studies" with a high portion of international students and a strong international network. Teaching is research driven and supported by colleagues of different disciplines leading to an extensive profile of the programme.
Your workplace:
As Senior Lecturer, you will mainly be involved in teaching in the Master programme Gender Studies. Teaching entails the full range of the curriculum, including thematic as well as methodological and methodic classes of interdisciplinary Gender Studies. The employment extent is 28.4 hours per week, which includes a teaching load of an average of 10 hours of scientific teaching per semester.
Your future tasks:
- You will independently give courses at Bachelor's and Master's level
- You support thesis-writing (vgl. studienrechtlichen Teil der Satzung Universität Wien)
- You make an active contribution to the (further) development of course and examination formats
- We expect from you the ongoing reception of the current state of science as well as the didactic further training during the lecture-free time.
- You will take on administrative tasks, especially in the administration of teaching.
What we expect:
- Completed doctorate in the field of Gender Studies (incl. gender research from other disciplines)
- Preferably your knowledge includes current gender epistemology and methodology
- Several years of independent teaching at a post-secondary educational institution
- Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and for university teaching
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to coordinate teaching content with colleagues according to the requirements of the study program
- Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
- Persons with qualification for supervision are especially invited to apply (habilitation or equivalent academic level)
