- Great development opportunity for a Mass Spectrometry Researcher to work in WA Proteomics Facility
- Full-time appointment on a fixed term basis until the end of June 2028
- Base salary range: Level C, $139,000 – $159,893 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.
About the area
The WA Proteomics Facility is a node of Proteomics Australia based at CMCA that provides services to WA researchers including - sample analysis by mass spectrometry, data analysis and consulting.
About the opportunity
- Undertake research and development of innovative approaches in protein identification, quantitation and flux analysis to enable new services for researchers
- Build research collaborations aimed at publication in international research journals
- Establish relationships and collaborations with proteomics experts in facilities and research groups in Australia and the Proteomics Australia network
- Play a key role in both technology development and student supervision.
To succeed in this role you will be a motivated researcher who is able to demonstrate the relevant research background relative to the opportunity. You will also possess experience in preparing manuscripts for publication and have a high level of computing and data management skills. You will use your own initiative whilst also being able to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with other researchers. Experience in supervising Masters and/or PhD students is expected.
About you
- PhD in protein chemistry, biochemistry or molecular biology, or related discipline
- Experience in development and execution of stable-isotope labelled mass spectrometry data processing
- Good interpersonal skills to work independently and in a team
- Experience in project management
