The role
We are excited to recruit a skilled senior technician to support and oversee the daily operations of our Virology Laboratories.
The role involves providing technical support to multiple Virology laboratory encompassing six research groups. Due to the wide variety of research within the laboratories, you will gain many new and interesting skills, and be supported at every step to succeed!
You’ll be responsible for technical support to lab users, equipment management, Health and Safety compliance, and much more.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a background in Virology, Tissue culture or similar as well as a broad range of technical skills and experience supervising and working as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have solid experience working within a biosciences laboratory, have good communication skills, a strong understanding of laboratory Health and Safety and a willingness to learn and develop themselves, as well as teach others.
You will be responsible for the line management of a laboratory technician and will be interacting with academics, researchers, students, and other members of the technical team on a daily basis. The successful candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, ensuring everything is provided to the highest possible standard.
