Residential Life

We are Residential Life; we oversee and manage the Halls of Residence at the University of East London. We manage 1169 bedrooms for students, casual lettings and summer conferencing guests ensuring all residents have an enjoyable stay with us. We are the first point of contact for all residents and prospective residents. Residential Life comprises of several areas including Estates and summer conferencing operations, customer service, welfare, and events. 

Job Purpose 

Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service? Come join the Residential Life team at the University of East London as our Customer Service Assistant. You will act as the first point of contact for all visitors and provide a high standard of customer care to all students living in UEL Halls of Residence, prospective residents, UEL colleagues and all other visitors to the Residential Life office. 

The postholder will work on delivering an excellent, effective and customer focused experience for our 1169 student residents in the Halls of Residence, which requires administrative skills and attention to detail. Working alongside colleagues within the team and the wider University, the postholder must ensure a high level of service is provided.

Educated to a degree level or equivalent, you will have experience in a customer-facing role. You should have strong customer service, communication, IT and administrative skills. You are expected to be flexible to respond to the needs of the Residential Life team and stakeholders depending on changing client requirements and the priorities of the team and are required to work regular weekends.
