You are an experienced leader who has outstanding communication skills. You have the ability to create strong networks and manage internal and external stakeholders. You have experience in fostering a culture of service excellence and providing innovative and business focussed advice to senior leaders. Ideally, you will have experience in a higher education setting.

About the Role

The Manager: Future Industries Institute (FII) is responsible for providing high level management and executive support to the Director: FII in the development and implementation of business growth strategies for the Institute. This is a strategic management and prominent leadership position, and is accountable for the successful delivery and management of a diverse range of professional business services in the Institute.

The University of South Australia’s Future Industries Institute (FII) undertakes cross-disciplinary research related to 5 key industry sectors: Healthy Environments; High-Tech Manufacturing; Medical Technology; Smart Energy; and Sustainable Resources. With state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure, new technologies and approaches are being developed to support state and national economic growth. Working closely with industry partners and end-users ensures our researchers and students engage in real world experiences to create local, national and global impact.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the imperatives for, and fundamentals of, research funding in the Australian Higher Education Sector
  • Demonstrated experience working in a research education environment
  • Proven ability to implement strategies to achieve corporate and local objectives
  • Demonstrated high level leadership and people management skills
  • Highly developed negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills
