Medical Education Unit

  • Seeking an innovative and experienced medical educator who values the importance of continuous review and improvement in medical education and can deliver best practice in this area, as part of an enthusiastic, dynamic team.
  • Part-time appointment, 0.8 FTE on a fixed term basis for 2 years
  • Base salary range: Level B, $113,934 – $134,824; Level C, $139,000 – $159,893 p.a. plus 17% superannuation.

About the area

The Medical Education Unit is an educational support unit on all matters related to curriculum development including (learning, teaching, assessment and evaluation) within the UWA Medical School.

The Global MD is an innovative medical degree being developed by the Medical School together with our key partner, the University of Arizona. Scheduled to commence in July 2026, students will undertake the Global MD will complete 2 years of study in Western Australia and a further 2 years in Arizona.

About the opportunity

As the appointee you will plan and implement the MD program evaluation of disciplines, placements, units, and the overall program for both the UWA MD program and the Global MD program according to the Download File UWA MD Evaluation Framework.pdf and the Global MD’s corresponding framework, under development. You will be responsible for development and deployment of evaluation in consultation with the Associate Dean, Global, the MD Program Director, the MD Assessment Lead and the medical program’s Unit Coordinators. You will oversee and perform analysis, communicating results to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner for continued quality improvement. The role extends into medical education aspects more broadly including learning, teaching and curriculum development.

About you

  • Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in health professions education
  • Substantial relevant experience in evaluation and quality assurance
  • Experience in assessment development and analysis
