The NYU Abu Dhabi Center for Writing invites applications for Academic Staff in Writing with the rank open, depending on experience and qualifications.

Members of our Academic Staff support NYU Abu Dhabi's educational mission by assisting faculty with courses in all academic disciplines. Academic Staff lead discussion sections, hold review sessions, provide assistance with the preparation, development, and assessment of courses, and take part in program and divisional activities. Participation in professional development opportunities is expected and supported.

Academic Staff team members who work in The Center for Writing support both graduate and undergraduate students. They play an integral role in the development of students’ written and oral expression throughout their NYUAD education. Academic staff serve as course assistants for faculty in the First Year Writing Seminars, where they provide  individualized tutorials and workshops for students; in addition, they serve as writing and/or speech consultants in The Center for Writing, conducting one-on-one and small group consultation. Furthermore, Academic Staff for Writing may provide writing support in secondary academic assignments aligned with the mission of writing across the curriculum and support Writing Program and Center for Writing initiatives (such as special workshops and curricular or extracurricular events).

Academic Staff for Writing are expected to participate in ongoing professional development through participation in pedagogy workshops throughout the calendar year.
