To support our growth and future development, we need you to join our team, enhancing our academic presence in both teaching and research whilst further developing our sustainability agenda and curriculum. UCEM’s exciting new programmes require exciting new talent. Key skills and experience in the UCEM’s growth areas that we are looking for are:

Renewable Energy, Engineering and the Environment

  • Able to support the development and launch of new programmes, most specifically a new post-graduate programme: MSc Renewable Energy and Technology (proposed launch Autumn 2026)
  • Ideally have a blend of industry and academic experience, although we would be particularly keen to hear from experienced construction quantity surveyors or construction managers looking to move into teaching and research
  • Currently working as a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level in a related discipline

  • Cert HE/L4 Building Services Engineering Senior Technician (proposed launch Autumn 2026)
  • Cert HE/L4 BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) Controls Engineer (proposed launch Autumn 2026)

This is a key academic position within the School of the Built Environment, delivering, developing and monitoring the performance of postgraduate and/or undergraduate modules within a specific subject discipline. In summary you will:

  • Provide high quality learning, teaching and assessment
  • Support and manage the development and delivery of modules
  • Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development through scholarly activity, research, industry liaison, and engagement with UCEM staff development activities.
