The Opportunity
As Professor of Psychology, you will play a key leadership role in the growth and success of our undergraduate and graduate psychology programs as well as broadly provide leadership across our Moreton Bay campus. You will bring a nationally and internationally recognised research agenda, exceptional teaching expertise, and a commitment to excellence in student outcomes. You will lead and mentor a dynamic team of educators, inspire students through innovative learning, and foster research collaborations that drive impactful social, environmental, and cultural change. This role also provides a strategic opportunity to contribute to the development and accreditation of our psychology programs and promote international academic cooperation.
Key Responsibilities- Lead internationally recognised research in psychology, securing competitive external funding and producing high-impact publications.
- Shape and develop innovative curricula, fostering excellence in teaching and enhancing student success.
- Mentor and supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students, supporting the development of future academic leaders.
- Drive strategic engagement with regional, national, and international stakeholders, creating meaningful partnerships that benefit the university and broader communities.
- Contribute to university governance and the academic environment, promoting a culture of collaboration, high performance, and academic integrity.
The ideal applicant is a passionate and accomplished academic with a strong national and international research profile, a proven track record of securing research grant funding, and quality publications. They are an inspiring leader in teaching, research, and program development, with the ability to drive the accreditation of psychology programs. They foster international collaboration, are committed to a student-centred approach, and excel in enhancing the overall educational experience and success of students.
To excel in this role, you will have:
- A doctoral qualification in psychology and extensive experience as an academic leader.
- A globally recognised research profile, with a track record of impactful publications and successful grant applications.
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing research-led approaches to teaching, with recognition for excellence in learning and teaching.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor colleagues and students alike.
- A commitment to engaging with diverse communities and stakeholders to drive positive social impact.
