  • The Opportunity

    Join UniSC in a leading role as the Associate Director, International (Business Development), where you'll guide our International Business Development team in achieving ambitious targets for international student enrolments. Responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating UniSC’s international student recruitment strategies, including Study Abroad and Transnational Education (TNE) initiatives, you'll cultivate sustainable, scalable, and diverse student pipelines. Success will be measured by exceeding annual enrolment and revenue targets, while enhancing the diversity of our student body across nationalities, disciplines, and study levels. Your role will also focus on effective budget management, ensuring optimal return on investment and cost efficiency. Collaborating closely with senior management, your insights and decisions will shape our university's global impact.

    You will

  • shape and deliver UniSC’s international student recruitment strategies, including innovative Transnational Education initiatives, driving global engagement and impact;
  • offer data-driven, evidence-backed insights to university leaders, unlocking new opportunities for international recruitment and collaboration; and
  • lead a diverse team of onshore and offshore experts, ensuring successful student recruitment through both direct efforts and strategic partnerships.
  • About you

    Our ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for international education and the ability to turn big ideas into results. You're confident in developing and executing international student recruitment strategies that meet both enrolment and revenue targets, while leading your team to success. With your eye on the market and emerging trends, you're always one step ahead, using data and insights to inform your decisions. You're a natural relationship builder, forging strong connections with stakeholders inside and outside the university. You'll also bring a sharp focus on financial responsibility, compliance, and risk management, ensuring that every initiative you lead is sustainable and impactful.

    You will possess:

  • Proven success in creating and executing international business development strategies, including Study Abroad and TNE initiatives, to drive enrolment and revenue growth.
  • Extensive experience leading high-performing, mobile teams, delivering results in fast-paced environments while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Expertise in conducting detailed market analysis, identifying trends, and offering strategic advice to optimise business development outcomes.
  • Exceptional relationship management and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
  • Deep knowledge of source country education systems and qualifications, alongside strong networks with business partners, government agencies, and scholarship bodies both in Australia and globally.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Australian and international higher education sectors, with the ability to navigate regulations like ESOS and TEQSA and develop strategies that balance opportunity and risk.
  • Desirable:

  • Fluency in a language relevant to UniSC’s international strategy.
  • Experience managing globally distributed teams across time zones with complex travel requirements.
