About the Role
The Human Factors Research Scientist position entails participation in a state Government-funded project (CAN-TRACK) within the Department of Transport and Planning. The project focuses on studying the impact of medical cannabis on real-world on-track driving. The individual in this role will oversee the integration of vehicle/occupant monitoring systems in the dedicated research vehicle throughout the project's duration at the specified site. Responsibilities include managing all aspects of data collection, processing, and analysis related to vehicle and occupant monitoring outcomes.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in administering and delivering successful research projects (with internal and external stakeholders)
- High degree of proficiency in scripting and/or programming languages (e.g. Python, Bash, R) and version control (e.g. git) to systematically develop and manage pipelines for collating, cleaning, and maintaining integrity for diverse and large volume of research data.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting quantitative research with human participants in the field of experimental psychology, human factors, ergonomics or similar
- Experience in generating insight from a large volume of data through methods of statistical analysis and/or machine learning

Qualifications
An Undergraduate/postgraduate/honours qualification in human factors, psychology, ergonomics, User experience (UX) research or a related field
