The Opportunity
This role offers you the chance to help shape the future of our Counselling Program by delivering high-quality teaching and driving exceptional graduate outcomes. You will:
- contribute to learning and teaching practices;
- make positive contributions to research projects;
- co-supervise honours students and HDR candidates; and
- contribute to academic administration and participate in activities enhancing the student experience
About you:
We seek an academic with a background in counselling, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for teaching. The ideal candidate will bring a student-focused approach to their work, using innovative instructional techniques to create an inclusive and positive learning environment. A commitment to continuous professional development is essential, as you'll be encouraged to enhance your skills through workshops, conferences, and research in learning and teaching. This role is perfect for someone eager to stay current with the latest developments in education while growing personally and professionally.
You will possess:
- completion or near-completion of a masters qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
- effectiveness as a teacher including the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching;
- research experience and potential including for example: refereed publications, participation in research teams and sound knowledge of research methodologies relevant to the discipline/field;
- membership of and sound connections with relevant professional bodies and community groups and/or in professional practice; and
- strong personal qualities and collegial approaches that contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment which is conducive to engagement and achievement for both staff and students.
