About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated fundamental and translational scientist with expertise in organoid development, metabolomics, microbiome research, and translational science to join our dynamic research team.

This role involves a leading innovative project aimed at understanding the complex interactions between prenatal diet and nutrient supplementation on offspring neurodevelopment and whether this can be explained by early- age molecular profiles, gut microbiome and metabolic profiles. This will involve a close collaboration with The Copenhagen Prospective Studies on Asthma in Childhood (COPSAC), a leading research institute known for its high-quality, longitudinal cohort studies.

You will employ in-vitro 3D organoid models to see how micronutrients may affect organoid growth, which recapitulates features of early human neurodevelopment in vitro. You will play a key role in bridging a significant gap in our understanding of prenatal nutrition and child neurodevelopment and foster the development of personalised nutrition strategies in prenatal care.

About you

The successful candidate will have a PhD (or soon to obtain) in immunology, bioinformatics or a related field with a strong emphasis on omics research, with extensive expertise in working with (multicellular) organoid cultures. They will be proficient in data analysis tools such as R and Python. The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information to varied audiences, and a proven track record of translating scientific research into clinical or real-world applications.
