Overview
The discipline of Computing and Security within the School of Science has the largest program of cyber security research and teaching in Australia; is one of only two federal government recognised Academic Centres of Cyber Security Excellence; is the only Australian university recognised as an International Cyber Security Centre of Excellence; and, is the home to the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre (Cyber-CRC) with academic, government and industry partners attracting $139m of funding. With a record 17 years of five-star teaching excellence, ECU is committed to providing the highest quality educational experience for its students. Our courses are informed by an active research program, with much of the related activity being aligned to the Centre for Securing Digital Futures (CSDF) - an internationally recognised leader in multidisciplinary cyber security research. The CSDF has an established reputation for industry-aligned research with a focus on the three pillars of critical infrastructure, emerging technologies, and human factors of security.
We are currently seeking applicants for a key position, directly supporting our cyber security education portfolio – in particular: our in-person, on-line, accelerated, and remote campuses both domestic and international. Applicants must have a strong technical cyber capability in areas such as network security, ethical hacking, cloud security, identity management, SOC/SIEM operations etc. and their research interests should align with at least one of the CSDF priority areas.
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated academic to pursue teaching and research in a growing area of global strategic importance, and to be a leader not just within ECU, but nationally and internationally.

Benefits & Remuneration
This position attracts remuneration of $113,918 - $134,596 (ALEVB) plus 17% University superannuation contribution and will be paid in proportion to hours worked as negotiated with the successful candidate.
