The Faculty of Law invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the area of Constitutional Law and Macao Basic Law.

The Faculty of Law of University of Macau is the oldest law school in Macao and plays a very important role in preparing jurists who are familiar with Macao S.A.R. legal system, as well as, educating jurists who are competent in legal research and practices in Macau law, international law and comparative law. Qualifications

Applicants for the post of Assistant Professor must hold a PhD degree in Constitutional Law and Basic Law. Preference will be given to applicants with experience and academic achievements in teaching Basic Law in Macao society and academic institutions. Applicants must be able to teach or do research in Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese).

The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in 2025.

Remuneration

A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
