2025 EARLY CAREER FELLOWSHIP 

Early Career Fellowships offer a three-year salaried post for researchers at the beginning of their academic career, providing them with the opportunity for career advancement and enabling them to undertake a significant piece of original publishable research. 

The scheme provides 50 per cent of the Fellow’s total salary costs – up to a limit of £28,000 per annum – with the host institution providing the remaining share. The Trust’s maximum annual contribution will be pro-rated if the Fellowship is held on a part-time basis. Research expenses of £6,000 a year are also available. 

Fellowships are tenable for three years on a full-time basis and must begin between 1 September 2025 and 1 May 2026. The Trust will support requests to hold the award part-time over a proportionately longer period for health-related reasons, disability or childcare commitments.
