As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.

The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a pilot study in collaboration with National Cancer Centre Singapore where you will be part of the research team to:

  1. pilot incorporating cancer malnutrition screening tools into routine clinical care in newly diagnosed lung cancer patients,
  2. establish use of CT scans for measurement of body composition to diagnose sarcopenia,
  3. identify a metabolic signature for cancer malnutrition. This exciting opportunity addresses a current clinical gap in cancer malnutrition. The results of this study may improve quality of care in cancer patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
  •  Undertake these responsibilities in the project:
    1. Co-ordinate study logistics
    2. Liaise with site Co-PIs for data collection
    3. Ensure adherence to study protocol
  • Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
  • Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure smooth study execution

Job Requirements:

  • Have a degree in Health Sciences/Biomedical Sciences/Life Sciences. Possessing a Dietetics and Nutrition qualification will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Food Analysis software e.g. Food Works will be advantageous
