Your personal sphere of influence:
As a University Assistant Praedoc you will work with the Vienna Media Education research team, focusing in particular on research for your doctoral project and also taking on tasks such as analyzing job advertisements from an ideology-critical perspective, developing creative interventions, working innovatively with data and producing academic publications. Our research focuses on critical-creative media literacy and real-dialectical methodology. Further information can be found at https://bildungswissenschaft.univie.ac.at/medienpaedagogik/.
The advertisment ist for 4 years, tough the employment relationship is initially limited to 1.5 years and is automatically extended to a total of 4 years, unless the employer submits a declaration of non-extension after a maximum of 12 months.
Your future tasks:
You actively participate in research, teaching & administration by:
- developing a (international) research project in the field of critical-creative media literacy,
- working on your dissertation and completing your doctorate,
- publishing scientific articles and giving scientific presentations with international relevance,
- participating in research projects and scientific studies in the field of media education and
- independently teach courses in accordance with the provisions of the collective agreement.
This is part of your personality:
- You should have a master's or diploma degree, be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of educational science with a focus on media education with special consideration of critical-creative media education, be interested in the main research areas of Viennese media education, have had initial experience of academic practice at universities and with scientific communities, especially with regard to international cooperations, and a good command of English (C1) and basic command of German.
- Experience in university teaching and university self-administration is desirable.
