Building on continuous success in student growth and in sustained advancement of research activities, the school has embarked on a programme of extensive expansion funded by substantial long-term investments. Our growing teams are teaching, exploring and practising in some of the most exciting areas in the field of computing and the processing of digital media.

In the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment (CEBE), we work to apply abstract intelligence to make a better, safer, smarter society. We have a strong emphasis on STEAM, with some of our teaching taking place in our award-winning new STEAMhouse building, where disciplines combine to solve real-world problems.

The candidate is expected to support and improve the students learning experience, which involves managing taught programmes, overseeing daily operations like timetabling, assessments, and examinations, and ensuring compliance with University quality standards and regulations. It includes contributing to the development of academic processes and teaching strategies, delivering a range of materials, and applying innovative teaching techniques to engage students. Additionally, it encompasses monitoring student progress and offering advice and guidance to personal tutors and students.

Moreover, the candidate is expected to contribute to research culture at the College of Computing and CEBE, whether individually or collaboratively, with a focus on Computing and Computer Science Areas. This involves engaging in knowledge generation, exchange, and transfer activities. Identifying funding sources and securing funds for research or scholarly projects is also crucial. Additionally, staying informed about developments in higher education relevant to learning, teaching, and research strategies within the School, Faculty, and University is required.

You will have a PhD holder in a Computing subject, as well as proven experience in delivering lectures, designing course materials, and providing academic support to students. You will have a good track record of conducting high-quality research, obtaining research funding, and publishing in reputable journals.

Our experts across the Faculty work not only with one another but across a wide range of disciplines, to solve real-world problems, and encourage and foster this spirit of Innovation in our students.  Together, they are able to respond dynamically to the multiple modern technological challenges posed by fast-paced industries. Across the Faculty, we integrate teaching with research, innovation and enterprise. We work closely with our industry partners to ensure that we are developing skills in our graduates that equips them for emerging careers and the future of work.
