Research Assistant at FIT

The Faculty of Integrated Technologies (FIT) at UBD will host an international conference in January 2025. FIT is seeking a highly qualified individual for the position of Part-Time Research Assistant for a duration of 2 months, commencing in December 2024 and concluding in January 2025.

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination and execution of this event ensuring alignment with FIT’s standards and expectations.

1. Logistics Management: Oversee coordination with venues, vendors and internal teams to guarantee seamless event execution.
2. Client Relations: Act as the primary liaison for FIT UBD, ensuring all client expectations are met.
3. Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and implement strategies to address them, ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations.
4. Post-Event Evaluation: Analyze event outcomes and provide detailed reports for continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:

1. A Master’s Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Public Relations, or a related field.
2. Proven experience in managing event budgets, logistics, venue selection and on-site coordination.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Malay.
4. Strong creative problem-solving abilities and adaptability to dynamic situations.
5. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
6. A valid driving license and personal transportation.
