Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is one of the world's top 100 young universities and offers an exciting opportunity for someone with relevant industry and teaching experience to embark on a career as a lecturer. For this role, the focus is on teaching, student project supervision and industry engagement.
You'll join our Management, Technology and Organisation department, part of AUT's dynamic and forward-thinking Business School. In line with AUT's positioning as a university of opportunity and New Zealand's only university of technology, we care about student success. We pride ourselves on the work-integrated learning opportunities we offer students, and our overall reputation for academic excellence and positive social impact. AUT's Business School holds the two most prestigious business school accreditations: EQUIS and AACSB, attesting to the quality of its programmes and processes. Embracing practice-led and research-informed approaches to teaching, we optimise the student experience and boast a wide range of expertise, increasingly focusing on cross-disciplinary work.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
You'll teach Information Systems, Business Analytics, Supply Chain and Project Management-related subjects at a range of levels, most likely primarily within our Bachelor of Business programme. You will also supervise student projects (including co-operative education/internship placements) and actively engage with industry.
You will be passionate about education, and have confidence both in the classroom and with on-line engagement. You will enthusiastically develop innovative teaching and assessment methods, tailoring content to student interests. You will enjoy working with a diverse body of domestic and international students, both as class cohorts and individually as needed. Ensuring the courses assigned to you are well conceived and delivered, and offer the best opportunity for student success is key in this role.
You will be based at AUT's City Campus, although teaching does also some classes at AUT's South Campus in Manukau. The scheduling of your teaching across trimesters/semesters can change each year and may occur during weekdays or evenings. This role has a significant teaching load with high class contact time.
Please be clear this is a teaching-focussed role and does not include research support. Appointment level and salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
