An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to work in our small animal Spay & Neuter Clinic at Blue Cross Animal Hospital, 88-92 Merton High St, London SW19 1BD. You will be part of a team of Academic, clinical, and technical staff responsible for delivering a high standard of technical support and teaching within the Spay & Neuter Clinic.

Working with the academic lead, you will provide a high standard of animal care and welfare to all animals undergoing surgery and support the veterinary surgeons during procedures to ensure a positive student experience.

This is a part-time role, working on site for two days per week during term time. You will need to be available on Tuesday and Wednesday during University terms (late Sept – early Dec, early Feb – mid Apr, and then a final fortnight in May for a total of 24 weeks throughout the year). We can be flexible with start and finish times but would expect you to work 16 hours per week.

If you are enthusiastic and keen to join a School of Veterinary Medicine that is motivated to do things differently, we would be delighted to hear from you.

About you

You will be a qualified Veterinary Nurse, holding Registration with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as an RVN. With experience working with dogs and cats (preferably in a veterinary clinical environment), you will also have an understanding of health and safety and animal welfare regulations.

About the Vet School

The School of Veterinary Medicine aims to create a wealth of new knowledge of the animal world, taking a multi-disciplinary approach to veterinary education and research and creating the veterinary leaders of the future. With over £40m of investment, international and multi-partner collaborations, coupled with a multi-disciplinary approach and state-of-the-art equipment, teaching and research facilities, it could open up a world of possibilities for you too.
