Be Part of a Remarkable Future
The University of Southampton’s international strategy positions the University as a ‘Gateway to the World’, deeply committed to making a positive social impact, transforming lives and enhancing prosperity across the globe.
A key driver of our strategy is to establish a network of campuses globally. We are delighted that Southampton has received approval to open a comprehensive campus under the UGC (Setting up and Operation of Campuses of Foreign Higher Educational Institutions in India) Regulations, 2023.
The TNE Growth Programme at the University of Southampton is responsible for successfully launching this first-of-its-kind India project. Specifically, the TNE Delivery Manager will lead the key aspects of the project, so will have a key contribution to make to achieving the University’s strategic objectives.
About the Role:
This is a new role in a high-performing and fast-paced team delivering a network of new international campuses and other at-scale partnership developments.
We need you, your energy and your expertise to take responsibility for the delivery of the India campus within the TNE Growth Programme. A central focus of the role will be working with our commercial partner to develop and execute an operating model and ensure the practical aspects of the campus are delivered to an ambitious timescale.
You will work as part of a wider programme team in partnership with the Associate Director TNE and university leadership, as well as, crucially our commercial partner.
About You:
The project management aspects of leading the TNE Growth Programme’s headline project means that you will be capable of assimilating information quickly, highly organised and with great attention to detail.
You should be highly credible with senior management and adept at influencing, building relationships and communicating at all levels.
We will need you to have the strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills to work hand in glove with our commercial partner.
Naturally, you will need strong cross- and intercultural communication skills and a deep affinity for India. You should be excited by the prospect of spending significant periods of time in Delhi (we anticipate this will be approx. 8 weeks a year).
What we can offer you
Lived experience of establishing a comprehensive Russell Group campus abroad is something which only a tiny handful of people have. Yet in 2024 TNE is having a real moment and this experience, and all you achieve in the role, will be a superb talking point for the future.
As a University, and in the TNE Growth Team, we aim to create a positive environment where everyone can do their best work in a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity. We believe that we can only truly meet our objectives if we can bring our whole selves to work.
Although this role is fixed term for two years (taking the India campus to/ through the first successful intake) we expect there to be follow-on opportunities in future campus developments.
Please note: this is a hybrid role with two days per week in Southampton, typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays, expected.
If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please email Zoë Marlow, Associate Director, TNE in the first instance: z.marlow@soton.ac.uk
