Opportunity
The Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness (PMCS) at Melbourne Law School is seeking a visionary leader for the role of Director. Established in 2018, the PMCS is the world’s only university-based interdisciplinary centre focused exclusively on statelessness. This pivotal role offers a unique chance to lead a centre committed to finding solutions and advancing knowledge in this crucial area.
As Director, you will be instrumental in steering the Centre towards achieving its strategic objectives, which encompass three distinct yet interconnected spheres of operation: research, education, and public policy engagement and outreach.
About You
The ideal candidate will be an internationally recognised legal scholar with a robust publication record in statelessness, refugee law, or related fields. You will have demonstrated leadership and staff management skills, including the ability to direct and review individual and team performances, and experience in ensuring research impact through public dissemination.
Essential Criteria:
- A first degree in law
- A doctoral degree in international law, refugee law, statelessness, or human rights law
- Proven ability to attract external funding and lead research projects/teams
- Experience in supervising PhD students in related fields
