  • Based at the Melbourne City Campus however, may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University.

We have a combination of highly talented educators, in-demand programs, cutting-edge facilities, vast industry partnerships and fantastic STEM students. Due to the growth in our Aeronautical engineering programs of delivery, we are seeking a new teacher to bring on teach our students. We offer an easy to access city-based location, a newly refurbished staff office space, and flexibility of work schedule.

About You

As a VE Teacher (Aerospace Engineer) you will be mainly responsible for delivering course material, assessing students, and supervising students enrolled in selected courses within the Future Technologies cluster, which will typically include courses in the Advanced Diploma of Engineering (Aeronautical). You will participate in the clusters continuing review of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (blended learning - face-to-face and online learning) and methods of student's competency and skill-based assessments. Your performance will be underpinned by participation in relevant activities which ensure your vocational competence meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Teaching experience in either Aeronautical OR Aerospace engineering OR Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) is desirable
  • Computing skills and experience in software such as Microsoft Office, a learning management system, XFLR and Solidworks or equivalent. 
  • Skills in aircraft design, aerospace engineering, aerodynamics and aero fundamentals.
  • Skills and experience in competency-based assessment.
  • Ability in ensuring current and contemporary vocational competence which meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.
  • Experience in relevant industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position. E.g. past work at an airline would be desirable.
  • Capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions. 

Qualifications

  • Teaching qualifications - Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment is a must.
  • Higher qualifications in Vocational Education Training will be highly regarded.
