About the opportunity
This teaching focused position will contribute to excellence in teaching, learning design, and curriculum innovation in Teacher Education. You will undertake independent teaching, contribute to a range of teaching and curriculum innovations, support the student experience, and undertake unit and course co-ordination duties as required.
Key responsibilities will include contributing to an innovative Initial Teacher Education program, with a specific expertise in English curriculum and pedagogy (Primary). It is expected that staff contribute to internal and external University and School activities, including teaching at our Albany campus.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:
- Preferably, a completed doctorate and/or substantive progess towards the completion of a doctorate in the field of Education of closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering innovative teaching approaches, assessment and materials for units and courses in higher education.
- Demonstrated record of teaching in higher education, including initial teacher education and/or recent professional practice as an educator in primary school settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Australia and Western Australian curriculum.
- Commitment to embedding UWA’s core values of openness, honesty, tolerance, fairness and responsibility in all aspects of work.
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
- Demonstrated or emerging record of engagement across the educator sector.
