As an Associate Professor in Social Work, you will:
- Lead teaching teams to develop innovation in curriculum design to inform unit/courses and materials which influence social work education within the university including leading reviews of units and courses across disciplines within the university to ensure that Deakin social work graduates are responsive to the needs of the health and community services sectors.
- Collaborate with colleagues, industry partners and students to deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
- Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive learning experiences and resources.
- Demonstrate a sustained and expanding national and international reputation in social work research and scholarship.
- Lead the development of research collaborations, to enable major breakthroughs in knowledge and understanding and solutions to complex problems and succeed in obtaining external competitive funding opportunities to support this.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- PhD in Social Work or a relevant discipline
- Eligibility for Membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and passion to lead the discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues.
- Demonstrated effectiveness as a collaborative member of a management team that sets and accomplishes shared goals and objectives.
