Campus: Based on Lanarkshire campus however the post holder will be required to work across UWS Campuses as required

THE POST 

The School of Health & Life Sciences are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative individual with a PhD (nearing completion for a Senior Lecturer is acceptable but is mandatory for a Reader post) who has experience of midwifery and/or maternal care, academia, supervision of students and team leadership.

As a Senior Lecturer or Reader, you will share academic leadership and management for the Division, including line management. You will take a lead role in either the design, development, and delivery of a range of undergraduate and postgraduate academic programmes within the division, engaging in academic quality assurance and enhancement activity such as to ensure high standards and regulatory/ professional body compliance (if appointed as a Senior Lecturer), or a lead role in the design development and delivery of research and commercial activity aligned the school and university’s agenda and associated REF Unit of Assessments (if appointed as a Reader). Thus, experience of learning and teaching in higher education with a desire to develop, innovative methods to enhance the student experience across our programmes, or evidence of a sustained track record of research publications and income generation are essential. The post will also undertake the Lead Midwife for Education role within the School of Health & Life Sciences.

A Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) registration is essential for this post.
