Position overview

The Centre for Indigenous Policy Research (CIPR) in POLIS: the Centre for Social Policy Research invites applications for a Research Fellow with proven qualitative research skills and a demonstrated capacity to build strong relationships with First Nations communities and organisations.  This position will make a crucial contribution to the project ‘Improving On-Country Education for First Nations Students’. The Research Fellow will be part of a research team producing empirical and qualitative evidence to build understanding of how various schooling models, education policy settings and funding allocations in the states, territories and at the Federal level, work to shape the lives of individuals and communities.  This position will involve fieldwork to 4 remote communities in the Northern Territory and South Australia.  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People are strongly encouraged to apply for this position.

CIPR is Australia's pre-eminent social science research body focusing on First Nations social and economic policy.  CIPR is part of POLIS, the ANU Centre for Social Policy Research in the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS).  POLIS is home to six other research centres, enabling CIPR to work across disciplines and sectors, including government, community, business and education.  This interdisciplinary and collaborative space enables CIPR to address and make a difference in the challenges of today's society.
