Role Description
We welcome applications for this key research post in Cranfield Air and Space Propulsion Institute from those with relevant knowledge and experience in fluid dynamic design and analysis of systems for space applications.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to research on a project supporting the development of systems for space applications as a part of a team within the Centre for Propulsion and Thermal Power Engineering and specifically the Cranfield Air and Space Propulsion Institute. This role will contribute to the design and development of a launch pad with a focus of quantifying and proposing design features to reduce the acoustic signature during launch. You will be working with computational fluid dynamic modelling and assessment of different architectures for acoustic signatures.
About You
You will have a PhD (or close to completion) in Aerospace Engineering, or similar field and have demonstrable relevant experience and achievements within space system design, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), aero-thermodynamics of power and propulsion systems, heat and mass transfer, thermo-fluid systems simulation and programming. Experience in acoustics and multi-phase simulations would be an added advantage to this role.
You will have experience in composing project deliverables, delivering effective presentations, and be able to assist in project integration workshops and other meetings.
