We are seeking to appoint two Lecturers in Computing (Cybersecurity) who will contribute to, and lead in, our evolution and growth through contribution to academic delivery, research and knowledge exchange, with a strong recognition of success metrics, high academic quality and reputational integrity.
The School of Engineering and Computing is looking to expand on our established strengths in Software Engineering, Games/VR, HCI/UX and Cyber Security to increase our student/staff community and develop new opportunities in teaching and research. Our ambition is to become a leading player in computing in the North-West region, recognised nationally for our teaching, knowledge exchange, industry engagement and research.
The successful candidate should recognise the importance of high-quality student experience and teaching, alongside an emerging and accelerating research profile. They will have a breadth of knowledge across the wider computing domain, with deeper understanding of, and a developing reputation in, their particular specialism. They will be experienced in delivering teaching and assessment within HE computing, in particular the area of cybersecurity.
A good honours degree (or equivalent) in a STEM computing related subject and PhD in a relevant subject area is required for this role. Applicants should hold a professional teaching qualification, applicable to HE, and/or membership of the Higher Education Academy, or be willing to obtain these shortly after appointment.
Please contact Prof Rob Aspin (RAAspin@UCLan.ac.uk) or Dr Stephen Sigurnjak (SSigurnjak@UCLan.ac.uk) for further details or to discuss this opportunity.
Applicants need to meet all essential criteria on the person specification to be considered for interview. This position is based in Preston. Depending on activity, you may also be required to visit, or work at, our Burnley campus. Work patterns may mean that weekend work is sometimes required.
