About the Role
Based in our regional campus in Mount Gambier the Lecturer (Teaching Academic) is primarily focussed on the preparation and delivery of teaching activities within the Unit’s undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs.
This position will contribute to the development of curricula and will utilise contemporary professional/discipline-related expertise to deliver high-quality teaching. This position is responsible for carrying out a range of activities to develop and maintain scholarly expertise related to the discipline.

UniSA College is positioned within UniSA Education Futures. The College is responsible for the university’s pre-degree and pathway programs for Australian students, and implements the University’s Participation Strategy, aimed at increasing the number of students from a low socio-economic background enrolled in the University.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement learning activities including lectures, tutorials, and assessment and provide timely feedback to students
- Employ appropriate teaching approaches (including face-to-face, online and blended learning) to promote student learning
- Contribute to the design and development of engaging course curricula and materials and ensure that teaching is informed by relevant research in the field of education
- Undertake teaching as part of the teaching team, including co-ordinating, or participating in, the moderation of assessment items
- Act as a student advisor by providing academic counselling, mentoring and advice to students
Essential Skills and Experience
- Post-graduate teaching qualification, and/ or equivalent professional/industry experience
- Demonstrated ability to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resources
- High level written and oral communication skills including demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with team members, external parties, colleagues and students
- Demonstrated experience in course coordination in Initial Teacher Education programs
- Understanding and experience in using a range of contemporary teaching methodologies including online and blended models of learning
