Your personal sphere of play:

Your future position is at the Institute of Analytical Chemistry in the work group of Prof. Köllensperger. The successful candidate will develop imaging workflows with the ultimate aim af single cell metallomics. The candidate will work within interdisciplinary teams (analytical chemists, clinical, biostatistics and bioinformatics scientists). The position is currently limited to 20 hours and is initially limited to one year with the option of subsquent permanent employment. From January 2025 there ist the possibility to increase to 40 hours.

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You build up an independent research profile in the field of inorganic mass spectrometry driven metallomics.
  • You are involved in research projects and scientific studies in the area of metallomics.
  • You publish internationally and give lectures.
  • You apply for projects and raise third-party funds.
  • You prepare and complete a publication-ready habilitation.
  • You hold courses independently within the scope of the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
  • You supervise your students.
  • You participate in evaluation measures and in quality assurance.
  • You take on administrative tasks in research, teaching and administration.

This is part of your personality:

  • Completed doctoral/PhD studies in subject analytical chemistry
  • Outstanding dissertation
  • Research competence and initiative proven through international publications in peer-relevant media
  • Experience in research management and in leading project staff
  • Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
  • IT skills: MS Office, Adobe. Highly preferable: Python and R 
  • Knowledge of bioimaging using inorganic mass spectrometry and evaluation of imaging data sets is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (C1) 
  • Team player and high social/communicative skills
  • Ability to present and visualise data

Fixed-term contract and fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 4,351.90 (14 times a year for senior scientists postdoctoral)  increases, if we can credit professional experience.
