About the position

The part-time (0.6FTE) research officer will support the conduct of the Accessible PrIDe research project. The Accessible PrIDe project is a collaboration with partnering organisations who aim to improve the lives of LGBTIQ+ people with intellectual disability by building the capacity of service sectors and communities around them to be more welcoming, accessible, inclusive and affirming of their intersectional identities and experiences.

The research component of this project will involve the evaluation and validation of an extensive co-design process working within a Participatory Action Research model. The position will:

  • Support the research activities of the project, including the collection and analysis of qualitative data
  • Draft reports and research papers relating to the activities of the project
  • Support knowledge translation efforts and communication of findings within the disability and LGBTIQ+ sectors

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline, and evidence of participation in higher level study relevant to discipline or professional area.
  • Evidence of experience in research and evaluation and the ability to work effectively under limited supervision or independently.
  • A record of contribution to publications, conference papers and/or reports, or professional or technical contributions which provide evidence of research potential.
  • Experience in the collection and analysis of qualitative data.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team in a cooperative and collegial manner.
