Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to join the Cancer B Cell group of Professor Francesco Forconi, working alongside Senior Scientists in antibody therapeutics within the Cancer Sciences and glycobiology at the Institute for Life Sciences (IFLS).

The successful candidate will have a PhD or equivalent international qualification and experience. They will perform translational studies and data analyses, aiming to take novel findings in lymphoma into first-in-human therapies recently developed in our Centre and will involve international collaborators.

You will have advanced knowledge of lab-based techniques and data management, using your skills to investigate the interactions of lymphoma B cells with environmental lectins. Knowledge and laboratory experience of tumour B cell biology, antibody/B-cell receptor manipulation and glycobiology or spatial biology are welcome.

You will be an enthusiastic and highly-motivated scientist, capable of developing your own multidisciplinary research project. You will be a team player with excellent communication skills. You will join an expanding team of scientists and clinicians working on cancer B-cell immunology, glycobiology, signalling and antibody therapeutics integrating bioinformatics with support from the Clinical Informatics Research Unit. You will contribute to the submission of new grant applications and may also supervise junior staff and students.

This post will be based within the School of Cancer Sciences, Somers Building and Centre for Cancer Immunology at the Southampton General Hospital campus, occupying modern, well-equipped, purpose-built laboratories, with support from clinical and laboratory-based colleagues.
