Research Assistant Professor / Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 528575 )

We now invite applications for the captioned post(s) in the Department of Geography. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead research in urban environmental modeling and/or sustainable spatial planning, develop innovative research proposals, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead research in urban environmental modeling and/or sustainable spatial planning.
• Develop innovative research proposals.
• Assist in teaching and supervising students.
• Handle other temporary lab matters as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Ph.D. degree in GIS, remote sensing, computer science or a related field.
• Strong publication records in notable journals.
• Knowledge or experience in any of the fields: LLM, satellite image fusion, data analytics, or WRF-based urban environment simulation and applications is a plus.

What We Offer:

The appointment will commence as soon as possible, with a 1-year temporary basis for Post-doctoral Fellows or a 2-year fixed-term basis for Research Assistant Professors. The possibility of renewal will be subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience, will be offered, in addition to annual leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries. For Research Assistant Professors, the fixed-term appointment will include a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 15% of the basic salary. Candidates with limited publication records may be considered for the Post-doctoral Fellow position.
