Faculty
The focus of the pathway is to empower pharmacists to safely deliver the full scope of their professional capability and increase their competence in optimising medicines use for individual with severe mental illness (SMI) and associated physical illness. This is achieved using the active and collaborative learning strategy, Team-Based Learning (TBL) which is delivered online. The pathway aims to enhance the development of independent advanced practitioners by expanding clinical, consultation, assessment, leadership, service evaluation and decision-making skills. The post holder will contribute to teaching professional and clinical practice.
What you will be doing:
- Work with the pathway lead to organise, develop and deliver the Specialist Mental Health Pharmacist Training Pathway which is funded by a NHS England contract
- Strengthen our sector-leading teaching of Clinical Pharmacy at the postgraduate level. We are currently delivering learning to cohort 3 which runs until July 2025. There is scope for a further cohort in 2025-2026 and we will know this outcome later in 2024
Qualifications/ experience:
- Prior experience of teaching pharmacists or pharmacy students (ideally in relation to mental health and/or primary care). Applicants should have a professional background that includes working in patient-facing roles.
- You should hold a relevant postgraduate qualification.
- You will be an experienced and enthusiastic teacher and take a proactive role in developing new learning materials alongside our highly experienced and supportive team. An independent prescribing qualification is an advantage.
