The Position

The Administration Officer provides administrative support, contributing to the efficient and effective management of day-to-day operations of the Agrifood Innovation Institute (AFII).

As an integral part of the Institute, the administration team provides support to a range of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to: AFII staff, researchers, students, Agrifood Hub members, international delegates, industry and government partners. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are critical in this forward-facing role, and the Administration Officer will be a key team member to greet visitors on arrival and direct enquiries when necessary. 

The Person

Along with administrative support, the Administration Officer assists the team in maintaining the communal areas and meeting spaces at the Agrifood Hub, so the ideal candidate will be organised, can multitask and possess an eye for detail. 

The School

AFII is located at ANU, with a mission to build partnerships between researchers, industry, governments, and end-users in innovative Agri-tech solutions. At AFII, the Administration Officer will provide administrative support in a professional and timely manner in accordance with AFII and University styles, policies and procedures, and maintain successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes supporting the strategic goals of AFII and, more broadly, the University.

The College

The ANU College of Science encompasses the disciplines of: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Environment and Society, Mathematics, Physics, and Science Communication and is also home to a number of cross-disciplinary and specialist Institutes and Centres.  Staff and students within the ANU College of Science conduct research and deliver a research-led education program that encompasses the breadth of the sciences, supported by extensive international networks and by world-class facilities.
