The School of Science and Engineering has an international reputation for excellent teaching and topical research, particularly in addressing global challenges in energy, the environment, health care, technology, forensic science and infrastructure.

The Dundee International Institute of Central South University (DIICSU) is an exciting new partnership between the University of Dundee (UoD) and Central South University (CSU) in China. CSU is a Class A Double First Class University located in Changsha, Hunan Province.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for the programmes offered by DIICSU participate in assessing and examining students, perform high- quality research and obtain external research grants.
Your priorities will include:
- To spend one semester (20 weeks) each academic year at CSU to deliver teaching in the programmes and develop research collaborations with colleagues at CSU.
- To deliver high-quality and innovative teaching across a range of modules that includes the areas of Computer Aided Design, Microcontrollers, Fluid Mechanics and Solid Mechanics.
- To provide curriculum leadership within own area of expertise.
- To be responsible for the design and quality of course modules in specialist areas. Where appropriate, to identify the need for developing the content or structure of existing modules and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
Who we’re looking for:
- PhD in a relevant subject
- Clear evidence of learning and teaching competence, including at least two years of teaching experience at university level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Evidence of ability and willingness to work collaboratively with others
- Evidence of effective team membership
As this role is based between the UK and China, the role holder must hold the right to work in both countries or be eligible to obtain this. Support with making an application for the relevant work visa(s) will be provided, if necessary.
