The University of Southampton is seeking a Soft Landscape/Gardener Supervisor.

The role
As the Landscape Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for the management of the onsite soft landscaping/gardening team and alongside the Landscape Service Manager be responsible for ensuring the grounds and projects are completed to the required standard. You must have an eye for detail and take pride in your work and take a proactive approach to ensuring Health and Safety on site, as well as liaising with key stakeholders, such as project managers and contractors working on site. Key responsibilities include visiting customer sites post survey (usually with the project manager to scope the site), meeting with the customer pre-build, organising and manage subcontractors and managing and monitoring team performance and development needs.
About you
We are seeking an experienced horticulturalist who can work under their own initiative, with excellent time management and lead a team of landscapers/gardeners. You will have an eye for detail, working from plans and taking pride in your work. You will have practical knowledge and skills in the use of horticultural maintenance machinery, such as ride on mowers, hedge cutters, tractor and pedestrian mowers. You will thrive working outside in all weathers and always adopt safe working practices for both your team and any contractors. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential.
