About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Impact Manager to join our Research Office, you will work closely with academic colleagues, departmental research co-ordinators, the Director of the Research Office and the Pro Vice Chancellor (Research). This is an excellent opportunity to lead, develop and expand the University’s impact support service by continuing the development of research and impact culture, and managing an exciting and diverse portfolio of impact projects.
The Impact Manager will be responsible for developing and supporting policies, processes and activities with the aim of embedding impact and outcomes into research activities across the institution. Whilst there will be a focus on identifying and supporting activities relating to impact as defined in the Research Excellence Framework (REF), this post will have the opportunity to create, with others, an environment where impact is supported and celebrated.

About You
As Research Impact Manager you will have:
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the REF and the role of impact within that, and of the impact policies of a wide range of funders (including UKRI, Horizon Europe).
- A strong track record of supporting the development of impact, including through identifying opportunities for impact-driven knowledge exchange.
- Excellent knowledge of the research process across a range of disciplines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with people from across a wide range of disciplines and roles, to build strong, productive and pro-active teams.
- Excellent influencing, liaising and networking skills, including the ability to influence and persuade key decision makers internally and externally.
- Excellent analytical skills including the ability to manage effectively complex information, and to develop and successfully implement solutions to problems.
