Applications are invited for appointment as Full-time/Part-time Curriculum Development Officer (at the rank of Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (several posts) (Ref.: 527508), to commence as soon as possible but not earlier than September 1, 2024 until August 31, 2025, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Education, or a Bachelor’s degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent, with at least 5 years’ teaching experience in local primary and/or secondary schools or equivalent. They should also have a good command of written and spoken Chinese, and experience in IT applications and Chinese computer operations. Preference will be given to those who have experience in teaching multicultural students. Applicants with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment at the rank of Assistant Lecturer.
The appointees will be responsible for providing school-based support on Chinese Language curriculum for local primary and secondary schools; collaborating with teachers in curriculum development, lesson planning and observation, post-lesson debriefing; developing pedagogical approaches to cater for the learning diversity of Multicultural students; promoting learning and teaching with assessment data; sharing school-based experience at teacher professional development activities; writing school reports and progress reports; developing teaching and learning resources; consolidating best practices and school support experience for a Resource Handbook and performing other duties as assigned.
