Research Manager (at the rank of Senior Research Assistant or Post-doctoral Fellow) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 527507), to commence from September 2024 until August 31, 2025, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess (i) a Master’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science or equivalent, with 3 years’ related work experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline; (ii) solid statistical and computing skills; (iii) effective communication skills in both written and oral Chinese (mainly Cantonese) and English; and (iv) the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team to conduct educational research. Relevant research experience in educational settings will be an advantage.
The appointee will be responsible to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on the data collected from collaborative schools of this Project, including pre-test, post-test, interviews with stakeholders, students’ work etc., in order to (a) provide high-quality evidence-based and research-based school support service; (b) provide evidence to evaluate the effectiveness of pedagogical approaches; (c) develop data-driven methodology to inform the learning and teaching of Chinese for multicultural students in our collaborative schools; (d) oversee the timeline of project research outcomes. He/She will also help to write up reports and research papers as well as performing other duties as assigned.
