The School of Psychology seeks a permanent, full-time, technician to join the schools’ technical team, in support of teaching and research activities.

As well as being a self-motivated individual, who is organised and methodical, the ideal candidate would also provide value to other projects, where their experience and skills are beneficial to the technical team. Competency with using standard computer packages (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) and the ability to understand IT/AV hardware connectivity, is essential. An interest or background in construction, electronics or light engineering is desirable but not essential.

This a varied role, with both office and non-office-based activities across the School’s laboratories, teaching spaces and light workshop. You will be expected to provide support to Academic and Faculty Operating Service staff, and students, on a reactive basis. You will be responsible, under the guidance of the technical manager, for maintaining regular Health and Safety inspections and equipment checks, whilst ensuring that inspection records are updated in a timely manner.

It is desirable that you will have already have a higher-level qualification in a related field, and/or experience of the day-to-day operations of a reactive support environment, where the interaction with others is frequent.
