The University of East London (UEL) invites applications for the role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Fashion Marketing and Communication. This exciting position will play a pivotal role in our Arts & Digital Industries School, helping to cultivate the next generation of fashion industry leaders.

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality, innovative teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate fashion courses. You will contribute to curriculum development, engage in impactful research, and support the professional growth of our diverse student body. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues and industry professionals to ensure our programmes remain at the forefront of industry trends and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver teaching materials for a range of modules in fashion marketing and communication.
  • Engage in curriculum development to ensure our programmes meet industry needs.
  • Conduct research and contribute to knowledge transfer activities.
  • Provide academic advising and support to students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and industry partners to enhance the student experience.

We are particularly looking for academics that have experience in at least one or more of the following areas:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge of fashion business, including supply chain operations, marketing strategies, and industry developments.
    • we are particular interested in candidates who have 
    • specialisms in consumer behaviour, retail management and 
    • merchandising, sustainable and ethical practices,  
  2. Knowledge of current fashion industry trends and technology and innovation models.
  3. Experience with blended and inclusive learning methods.
  4. Strong commitment to anti-racist practice and understanding of equal opportunities in a multicultural environment.
  5. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
