Post-doctoral Fellow in Nanophotonics in the Department of Physics (Ref.: 527282)

Duties and Responsibilities

• work on a project related to Nanophotonics and Optical Physics
• design/refine the research instruments
• coordinate data collection and analysis
• support the organization of dissemination events
• assist in the preparation of reports
• perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• a Ph.D. degree (or pending soon PhD degree) in Physics, Applied Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• an good command of written and spoken English
• good interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
• the ability to work on a tight schedule to meet project deadlines
• the ability to work independently and in a team
• self-motivated and responsible
• The appointee will work with Prof. Yi Yang’s group to conduct research on optical physics and nanophotonics.  Areas of research include nanophotonics at the extreme nanoscale, free-electron-light interaction and quantum optics, and synthetic gauge fields in topological photonics. The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a temporary basis for 2 years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
